Passion was the first song we wrote for this album, although it lived in an almost-finished state for over two years! The main synth line and vocal melodies have remained the same, but in the later recording sessions we pushed the track towards a more 'live band’ feel by dialling back some of the electronics and adding extra live percussion tracks and guitarlele rhythms which we learned on our travels.

The song tells a specific part of our overall album narrative, but the general theme is about the nervous feeling you get when faced with sharing things close to your heart. It's about wanting to know that someone will care about something as much as you do.

JANITE: You’re so familiar; a stranger who misunderstood.
ALVIMA: Now if I take a step, will my world keep turning?
JANITE: Maybe you should try, you might keep on learning how to handle this.

ALVIMA: HANDLE THIS?!!! I’m lost, i'm scared, I just don’t know how I got here so no I don't need saving, just a little time alone for me to face this.
